In The Community

Excel International Sports has been involved in many 'soccer in the community' projects, some of these are highlighted below:

Long Island Junior Soccer League, USA - With assistance from various organizations, Excel International Sports arranged for a free nine day soccer tour to Scotland for eighteen soccer players and two coaches from Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL). This team consisted of many players who had lost a family member during the 9/11 disaster and a civic reception was arranged in Scotland on their behalf.

St. Margaret's Hospice, Scotland - Excel International Sports arranged for two groups of U.S. college students to spend a day with the staff and patients of St. Margaret's Hospice, a hospice for the elderly with long term ilnesses. The students were very well received by the patients and staff at St. Margaret's.

Excel Sports is a proud partner of the Berhanu Soccer Foundation (www.berhanusoccer.org), a non-profit soccer foundation founded in memory of Berhanu Ageze. Berhanu was a former Excel Sports tour participant who passed away suddenly in 2003.

America for Africa Soccer - Excel Sports is proud to support the non-profit program America for Africa Soccer.  America For Africa Soccer Foundation, Inc. has as mission to alleviate poverty on the continent of Africa. To achieve this objective, AASF intends to promote the game of football in Africa by using it as a tool in fighting poverty, hunger, malnutrition and diseases such as HIV-AIDS and malaria that are wrecking havoc on the continent. Excel Sports donated a set of soccer uniforms for the U13 Boys soccer program in December, 2007.

Excel Sports arranged for a dinner and party between the Potomac Bombers (MD, USA) and a club team from Zimbabwe at the Gothia World Youth Cup. As a result of this, assistance was provided to enable two of the Zimbabwe players to attend school as foreign exchange students in the U.S. for one year. These players were hosted for the year by the wonderful families of Potomac Bombers.
