Scotland Scotland, home of William Wallace, Robert the Bruce, Robbie Burns and bagpipes, is a diverse country filled with passionate Celtic people. It is also home to two of the most fanatically followed soccer clubs in the world: Glasgow Celtic and Glasgow Rangers. No tour of Glasgow, its largest city, is complete without visiting Hampden Park, Scotland's national stadium. Then see Ibrox Park (Rangers) and Celtic Park to experience firsthand Scottish soccer fever and passion. A short ride from both Glasgow and Edinburgh is Stirling, real "Braveheart" country and the site of Stirling Castle. Dating back to the 14th century, this is one of the most impressive buildings in all of Scotland. A mile north of Stirling's center stands the Wallace Monument. Built in 1869, it commemorates the life of Scotland's greatest freedom fighter.
Edinburgh Edinburgh, the Capital of Scotland, is dominated by a majestic castle on top of a hill, encircled by a pretty park and picturesque streets with wonderful historic places. Its magnificent architecture shifts from the lofty buildings of its medieval Old Town, to the grace of the Georgian New Town. Every step is a revelation - an alleyway which reveals an ancient courtyard, or an alley which opens up a new panorama. Yet within this sweeping elegance is a compact city, a bustling city, above all a city which rewards every visitor.
Glasgow Glasgow is one of Europe 's most exciting and beautiful destinations, which combines the energy and sophistication of a great international city with some of Scotland 's most spectacular scenery.
Glasgow is an architectural dream: Victorian red & honey sandstone, Italianate steeples and medieval spires sit harmoniously with neo-gothic towers, the sensuous Art Nouveau of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the titanium, glass and steel of the contemporary city. Just beyond the city of Glasgow lies some of Scotland 's most beautiful scenery. The local area is rich in history and heritage and each of its delightful country towns and villages has its own fascinating tale to tell.
Loch Lomond Loch Lomond is the world's most famous Loch and has been much written about, both in song and verse. The Loch is crossed by the Highland Boundary Fault and exhibits the physical characteristics of both highland and Lowland Scotland.
